Part of PharmaSUG is giving something back to the community in which our conference is being held. In 2013, we adopted a classroom at a Chicago high school through the Adopt A Classroom program. In 2014, we joined with Adopt A Classroom to support a San Diego middle school classroom near the conference hotel which has struggled with illiteracy.  In 2015, we are again focusing on STEM education.

Our Goal for 2015

Once again, PharmaSUG gives back to the local community through Adopt A Classroom. Last year PharmaSUG raised over $5200 to help Perkins K-8 School in San Diego build a library and provide supplies to promote literacy in 7th and 8th grade classrooms.

This year, the focus is on STEM education, by adopting the classroom of Debbie Weaver, a math teacher at University High School in Orlando. Debbie teaches algebra at all high school levels, working with over 160 students who are below the 25% proficiency level in math. Debbie put her classroom up for adoption over two years ago with the idea that, "My one goal is to make these kids feel as if they can succeed and don't give up." How You Can Help

During the conference, there will be a kiosk for donations by cash or check, or by credit card through the Adopt-A-Classroom website. Donations are also possible through the conference registration system, and can be made with a different credit card than the one used for conference registration. Please consider participating in this worthy cause!
