Opening Session

Sunday, June 16, 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Grand Ballroom, Salons E-F (Level 5)

The PharmaSUG 2019 conference will kick off Sunday evening with our opening session. This year's session will feature a light-hearted Pharma Family Feud game show. You'll get to know some of your fellow attendees as they compete on stage to win fabulous prizes by guessing how their fellow attendees responded to several survey questions. (Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey!)

Our opening session will also feature a short TED-style presentation from Teradata's Yuri Pinzon entitled "Are You Listening? Data in Pharma" (abstract below) as well as a quick conference overview, a few words from our annual charity, greetings from our premier sponsor (SAS), and a teaser from FDA's Ben Vali about his Wednesday morning keynote address.

Are You Listening? Data in Pharma (Yuri Pinzon, Teradata) - With the current data explosion in the Pharmaceutical industry, it is imperative that the industry understands that there is no single system solution to solve all business and scientific needs. Yet there is so much that can be shared from a data perspective to better the lives of the patient they serve. The industry as we all know is heavily regulated and siloed in nature for patient privacy. Over the last few years, there has been substantial progress towards responsible data sharing, but the data still remains siloed. With the advent of grid technologies, it can be analyzed on robust analytical platforms without moving from its native platform. That said the source can be anything and come from anywhere. More often than not your, patient speaks to you on different platforms before they actually speak to a medical professional. The question is are you listening?

Opening Mixer

Sunday, June 16, 7:30 - 10:00 PM
Liberty and Independence Ballrooms

After the opening session, we'll flow immediately into our opening mixer where you can mingle with other attendees and enjoy food, drink, and live music. It's a great chance to catch up with old friends and make some new ones as well! We'll have food stations available, so be sure to come hungry!

Speed Networking (during Opening Mixer)

Sunday, June 16, during Opening Mixer (see above)
Independence Ballroom

PharmaSUG has always been a great place to expand your professional network, but this year we're taking it to a new level with Speed Networking available during the opening mixer. This fun and fast-paced event-within-an-event will allow you to meet dozens of new people with only a small investment of time!

Attendees will be paired up for a short, focused, 3-minute networking conversation. When the time's up, you move on to your next conversational partner. If you really click with someone, you can plan to meet up later in the conference to continue the dialog!

Speed Networking will be held in the Independence Ballroom, while the main mixer is in the adjacent Liberty Ballroom. You can easily move back and forth between the two spaces. Speed Networking is completely optional. You're welcome to stick to more traditional networking methods, or just relax and have a good time!

The Liberty and Independence Ballrooms are located in the Headhouse Tower, accessible by skybridge from Level 3 of the main hotel.
