Techniques for SAS® Enabling Microsoft® Office in a Cross-Platform Environment

The Microsoft Office suite of products is very popular with many SAS users. Often it is necessary to integrate SAS data and analytical results into products such as Excel and Word. Difficulties arise when the SAS System is installed on a non-Windows plat form, such as Unix or OS/390. This paper provides techniques of integrating the powerful analytical processing power of the SAS System, irrespective of the platform, with Microsoft Excel and Word. Use of the Output Delivery System (ODS) is discussed.
